Sitting up

Addison is getting really good at sitting up by herself now.  She just started a few days ago and today she sat for almost a minute without falling.  I think she could sit longer but she always tries to reach for things and then loses her balance.  I have been a little nervous to take her picture for fear she would fall while I was not holding her.  A friend suggested putting the boppy pillow around her so if she falls she will be cushioned.  It works really well.  (Also, she is holding my cell phone.  She already loves to hold our phones and the TV remote.  It is amazing how  quickly she learned that she wants the real things and not toys.  We were warned that would happen.)

Addison's 1/2 Birthday

Today Addison is six months old. It is hard to believe six months have passed already.  It feels like she was just born a few weeks ago.  I still remember bringing her home from the hospital and me worrying about her "floppy" neck.  Now she is trying to sit on her own.
Addison is such a joy!!!  She is such a happy and content baby.  The only time she seems to be sad is when she is tired, needs a diaper change or we are finished feeing her applesauce :)  (Applesauce is still her favorite even though she has now added peaches to her list of new foods.)
One of the newer things Addison does is giving Daddy and Mommy hugs.  When she has been sleeping or playing on the floor by herself and we pick her up it is like she squeezes our necks.  It is the best.  I hope I always remember how great it feels.

Eating

Cereal

Bananas

I want more applesauce

In the middle of Feb. Addison started trying some new foods. We started off with the rice cereal.  She took to it so quickly.  After a week of just cereal we have been trying some baby foods.  Our pediatrician recommended we start with veggies and then move to fruit.  We started off with carrots, then tried sweet potatoes and then sweet peas.
Poor little thing did not care for peas.  The first day she ate them.  The second day I put a spoonful in her mouth, she let out a unhappy scream and let them fall right back out of her mouth.  We will wait  and then try the peas again.
Meanwhile she has tried bananas which she loved and then applesauce which seems to be her favorite.  When she was finished with her applesauce she cried for more.
