Vacation
Last week we went on vacation to West Palm Beach, FL It was Addison's first time to see the ocean and also her first real vacation.
Right before we left Addison got an early birthday present from her Great Nana. It was a "big girl" car seat so she could face forward in the car. Addison loved being able to look out the front of the car, watch DVD's and see Daddy and Mommy. We played peek-a-boo, she read her books, watched some Baby Einstein videos and slept.
Where is Addison?
"Peek-A-boo"
Reading Five Little Ladybugs (One of her current favorites. She likes to point at pictures and have us tell her what they are; duck, buzzy bee, turtle...)
Watching Baby Einstein
Sleeping the hours away
We happened to be going through Atlanta right around lunch time so we stopped to eat at the famous Varsity fast food restaurant.
Yum! Look at those onion rings.
We stopped half way in Savannah, GA to spend the night. Neither Andy or I had been there and we had always wanted to go. It is a really beautiful place. The hotel we stayed in ended up being pretty fancy and there were lots of things in our room for Addison to get into including a mini fridge stocked with things like $4 cans of coke. Yikes!
Since she had been in the car for seven hours as soon as we put her down she went wild. She wanted to "jump" on the bed, pull the beads off the lamps and play with the remote. We had so much fun watching her explore and play.
Our hotel
Lounging on the King sized bed
Watching a little TV
"Jumping" on the pillows
Checking out the fancy light... Oohhh beads :)
Here are some of the sights in Savannah...
HUGE boat. Those "tiny" boxes are 18 wheeler trailers.
Andy and I wanted to get some ice cream (Ok I admit it was mostly me). Poor little Addison can't have ice cream yet so she got applesauce. We got little spoons with our ice cream. They were the perfect size for Addison to use to feed herself.
Oops she lost her spoon.
Who needs a spoon anyway.
The next day we finally made it to Florida. It was beautiful. We had a really great week. It was surprisingly relaxing even with a baby. One day we went to the zoo but other than that we pretty much just took it easy in the pool or at the beach. We made some really great memories with our baby girl.
